| 45-70 Government; poor bore, good stock, 26'' barrel, First year production. Full octagon barrel with the original front sight and ladder rear sight. Two-line Winchester address on top of the barrel. Caliber designation over the chamber. Trace blue finish on barrel, finish turned mainly mixed patina on metal with spotting. Original walnut stock shows age and handling but no major issue other than an old chip on the right side corner of the receiver and upper tang. Also there is a wood filler repaired hole on the bottom of the butt. The action functions fine. The firing pin is broken. The bore is dark and rusty, rifling is visible. Antique, s/n 27xx |
