| 38-40 Winchester; 15% blue, 24'' barrel, Mfd 1911. Original blue finish has thinned and turned an even patina with traces of blue. Original plain walnut crescent butt stock and forend, has minimal nicks and dings. Full octagon barrel with original fixed front sight with silver blade, buckhorn elevation adjustable rear sight. Marked on top of the barrel "-MANUFACTURED BY THE-/-WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A- PATENTED OCTOBER 14, 1884". The upper tang is marked "MODEL 1892./-WINCHESTER-/TRADE MARK REG IN U-S PATENT OFF." Mechanically fine. The bore has strong rifling, showing frost and light pitting throughout., s/n 6097xx |
