| 30-30 Winchester; 70% blue, fair bore, good stock, 26'' barrel, Manufactured in 1901. Blued finish, plain walnut stock with crescent butt. Full octagon barrel. Ivory beaded fixed front sight. Elevation adjustable rear sight. Winchester address and patent dates in two lines on top of the barrel. Nickel steel barrel markings over the left side of the barrel below the rear sight. Dark wood from years of oiling. The receiver has old vice marks on both sides. Bore is dark and heavily frosted. Mechanically fine and complete original rifle. Tags attached by a previous owner give a bit of history on this rifle. Once owned by a George W Hovis after purchase in Canada. Later Mr. Hovis lived in Minnesota where this rifle was used for hunting. The notes indicate a photo of Mr. Hovis and a moose hunted and killed in 1913-1914, unfortunately the photo is not included., s/n 2219xx |
