| 45 S&W; 80% blue, excellent bore, good grips, 5'' barrel, SMITH & WESSON 1'ST MODEL SCHOFIELD MADE IN 1875 AND LATER ACCQUIRED BY WELLS FARGO IN ANTIQUE FINE CONDITION. THE ORIGINAL 7" BARREL WAS CUT DOWN TO 5". THE RIGHT SIDE BARREL EJECTOR HOUSING IS STAMPED "W.F.& COS EX" OVER THE ORIGINAL SCHOFIELD FACTORY MARKING ALONG WITH A RESTAMPED SERIAL NUMBER 2709. THE CYLINDER IS MATCHING AND THE FRAME UNDER THE CYLINDER BARS AN "L" INSPECTION LETTER. THE BLUING ON THE BARREL AND CYLINDER HAS MOSTLY TURNED PATINA, THE BLUING ON THE FRAME IS STILL BLUE WITH AREAS OF FADING. THE BUTT IS "US" MARKED WITH THE SERIAL NUMBER. THE BORE IS MIRROR BRIGHT WITH EXCELLENT RIFLING. THE GRIPS ARE NUMBERED TO THE GUN IN THE RIGHT PANEL, BUT THE IS NO VISIBLE CARTOUCHE OR DATE REMAINING ON EITHER PANEL.
