| 44 S&W; fair bore, good grips, 6.5'' barrel, Factory nickel finish with plain walnut grips. Barrel rib with integral front sight, stamped in a single line "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A. PAT. JAN17&24 65, JULY 11, 65. AUG. 24, 69. JAN. 19, 1875. REISSUE JULY 25, 1871". Revolver retains approx 80% nickel finish with most loss on the barrel. Grips appear to have been lightly sanded long ago with some varnish finish loss. Lanyard ring mounted on the butt, butt of the frame marked with a boxed "1874" over the serial number. Matching serial number on the back of the cylinder. Mechanically fine and tight. The bore is dark with corrosion, showing fairly strong rifling. However, the frame has a small fracture on the right side hinge. Antique., s/n 13xx |
