| 45 ACP; excellent bore, very good+ grips, 5'' barrel, Manufactured in 1943. Original parkerized finish and checkered Keyes grips. 3rd type slide logo. Stamped on the right side of the frame "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" over the serial number, and in front of the slide catch hole "M 1911 A1 U.S. ARMY". The ordnance wheel escutcheon is located behind the upper grip. The left side of the frame is stamped with the inspector marking "FJA" of Frank J Atwood, with the P firing proof stamped beside the magazine catch. Blued finish High Standard "HS" marked barrel with P proof on the right side of the lug. Proper checkered hammer, stippled safety and grooved slide stop. Earlier Remington Rand style checkered mainspring housing. Original blued finish Scovill magazine, S stamped on top of the base lip. Metal finish has some minor sharp edge and corner wear. Bore is bright with sharp rifling., s/n 13709xx |
