| 44 Caliber; 90% blue, excellent bore, very good grips, 8'' barrel, Exceptional example of Remington's New Model revolver, one of approx 106,000 used during the Civil War. Original blued finish. Walnut grips, strong inspector cartouche boxed BH. Top of the barrel is stamped "PATENTED SEPT.14, 1858/REMINGTON & SONS, ILION NEWYORK. U.S.A./NEW-MODEL". Small single letter inspector stamps located on the major parts. Mechanically this revolver is in fine condition, the bore is bright and clean as are the cylinder chambers. There are several tiny dings on the bottoms of each grip panel and the frame from the occasional use as a "hammer". Scattered light scratches overall with some rather minor spotting., s/n 620xx |
