| 8.15x46mmR; 92% blue, excellent bore, very good+ stock, 29'' barrel, This is an interesting Wehrmanngewehr conversion from a Mauser produced Gew.98 service rifle, likely done by Spandau in the early 1930's. The action retains the original Mauser chamber markings with 1908 date and model on the left side receiver rail. Blued finish, receiver "in the white". The walnut stock is stamped on the bottom of the buttstock with a sharp droop eagle/WaA33 proof. The top of the handguard is stamped with sharp Spandau SU75 proofs. The receiver has no visible military proofing, the left side of the rceiver ring being stamped with crown/B and U proofs. The top of the barrel is stamped "BLG / Sch.H",, a mark designating use with unjacketed soft lead bullet with reduced powder load. The metal parts have matching serial numbers with the exception of the upper and lower barrel bands. This rifle is a single loader with a wooden block with cartridge channel in the magazine well. Original fixed inverted V front sight. Original GEW tangent rear sight which has the added star markings on the sides of the base for settings for the 8.15x46 cartridge. Original cleaning rod. Swivel added to the lower base. This rifle is pictured and noted in the book "Training Rifles of Third Reich Germany" on page 446.
