| Description: |
| 22 LONG RIFLE; 95% blue, excellent bore, very good stock, 25.25'' barrel, Single shot .22 caliber training rifle with original blued finish, walnut stock with fluted rear handguard. Normal length butt. Royal Canadian Air Force marked on the left side of the butt. Matching bolt. Standard fixed front sight, original folding fully adjustable rear aperture sight. Stamped on the left side of the receiver with the "type 1" markings ".22" / LONG BRANCH / 1944". Original khaki web sling. Broad arrow sale marks on top of the receiver ring. The magazine included is not original for the No.7 training rifles. However it is a very rare magazine for the .22 No.5 Trails training rifles. The magazine can be changed from a single loader to a repeating rifle by simple removal of the internal clip, of which there was the floating base single shot clip as is in this magazine, or a 5-shot clip. The clips retained by a latch inside the top of the magazine box. The proper magazine for the C No.7 rifles was a standard No.4 rifle box magazine with the follower and spring removed and 22 stamped on the side, the box simply acting as a catch for the spent 22 casings., s/n OL32xx |
