| 303 British; fair bore, good stock, 25.25'' barrel, Savage manufacture dated 1942. No recent import markings, has the older British "tons" markings on the end of the barrel. Non-matching British mfr bolt with number 2 bolt head. MKI milled adjustable rear sight is British mfr. Upper barrel band is Long Branch LB marked. Remainder of parts are S marked for Savage mfr except the magazine follower and safety. Original metal finish has faded with some light spotting overall. Birchwood stocked with standard length butt. Forend is matching. Grooved lower handguard. Buttplate trap is corroded and the tip of the trap door is broken off. The barrel has a two groove bore showing darkness and light corrosion throughout. The muzzle is good and gauges .305 using a .30 cal muzzle guage., s/n 16C80xx |
