| 8mm Mauser; 90% blue, good bore, good stock, 23.5'' barrel, Steyr manufacture, original blued finish, laminated stock and handguard. Matching bolt and rear sight leaf, other parts are not numbered and most are not proofed. Top of receiver is stamped with an eagle/WaA623 proof over the code "bnz" and date code "44". Right side of receiver ring is marked with an eagle/623 proof, and right side of rear sight base is marked with an eagle/WaA623 proof. The left side of the barrel is marked with an eagle/WaA623 proof and an eagle/swaztika military acceptance mark. The right side of the stock butt has a faint Heer eagle/H stamp. Original front sight hood, original leather sling, buckle L&F marked in very good condition. Stamped steel bands. Stamped steel trigger guard and floorplate, both with "byf" codes and eagle/135 proofs. No provision for a cleaning rod. No import marks. The metal finish shows some areas of thinning. The stock has been lightly sanded. The bore has strong rifling, showing some light corrosion along the grooves of the rifling. Mechanically fine. C&R/FFL, s/n 39xxq |
