| 7.65x53mm; good bore, good stock, 22'' barrel, Model 1909 "Mountain Carbine" and sometime referred to as the "Engineers" carbine. Receiver and bolt in the white, thin blued finish on other parts. Matching serial numbers except the stock. No import marks found, does have the caliber mark of '765' on the right side of the barrel below the band, aka some old Samco imports. Newer handguard. Stock appears to have been manufactured in Argentina, having a slightly rougher finish than would have been from DWM. Bore has strong rifling but shows some light corrosion/pitting down in the grooves. According to some information it is thought that this variation was produced from shortened M1909 rifles in Argentina., s/n A56xx |
