| 38 Rimfire; fair bore, good grips, 4.5'' barrel, Manufactured c.1873-1875. Conversion to cartridge from a Pocket Navy model revolver. Nickel finish with brass backstrap and trigger guard. Plain walnut grip. Matching serial numbers except on the barrel wedge. Single line Colt's address on top of the octagon barrel. The left side of the frame is stamped with 1871 over 1872 patent dates. The original caliber designation marking remains on the left side of the trigger guard "36 CAL". Plugged cutout for the loading lever. This revolver has a loading gate. Stepped 5-shot cylinder with 95% stagecoach cylinder scene. The nickel finish is worn with dark spotting in areas of loss, small scratches and dings. Grips has wear on the bottom edges. The action functions fine. Bore has corrosion. Antique., s/n 50xx |
