| 44 Caliber; 80% blue, good bore, good grips, 8'' barrel, Civilian model manufactured in 1868. Serial numbers matching including the wedge. Bright blued finish, shows lots of handling marks and a few beat marks around the wedge slot. Generous case color remaining on the frame. The cylinder has lost most of its blued finish however retains approximately 98%+ of the Naval battle roll engraved scene, very nice. Brass trigger guard has traces of the silver plate finish only. The original walnut grip appears to have been revarnished at some point. Mechanically this revolver is in excellent condition. The bore has shine and fairly sharp rifling with levels of corrosion/pitting. Clear markings, the top of the barrel having the Colt's New York address stamped in a single line. Antique, s/n 1650xx |
