| 16 Gauge; fair bore, good stock, 25'' barrel, Manufactured 1839-1841 with an estimated 225 produced, making the Colt revolving shotgun a very rare firearm in any condition. The metal has aged to light patina overall with heavy dark rust spotting. Engraved along the right side of the barrel lug "-Patent Arms Mg. Co. Paterson NJ.-Colt's Pt.-". The cylinders engraved scenes are barely visible. The barrel has been shortened from its original 32 inch length to 25 inches with a brass bead. The rear large U notched sight is likely a later addition. Nicely grained walnut stock was refinished long ago and is in overall good condition. The action functions fine. The barrels bore has corrosion throughout. Some nicking around the muzzles edge. Antique, s/n 2xx |
