| 8x57mm M/88; poor bore, poor stock, 20'' barrel, Chinese produced copy of the German 1888 Commission rifles and carbines, these were made from 1895 thru the WW2 era. These are usually found in pretty rough condition due to many years of service with non-standard troops and were even sent to the Vietnamese early during their conflict with the French and the U.S. The metal has turned rust patina with area of pitting, heaviest along the borders with the stock. The stock is dark and oil soaked, with heavily stamped Chinese markings on the right side of the butt. Matching serial numbered trigger guard, remaining parts non-matching or not numbered. The stock is cracked behind the receiver tang and on both sides of the wrist, and there are cracks on each side at the recoil lug. The handguard is cracked on the right side behind the rear sight base and in front of the rear sight base, with a crack and large chip at the upper end. The front sight guard is loose.
