| 8 x 50R; 90% blue, very good bore, good stock, 25.25'' barrel, Manufactured in England circa pre-WW2. Original blue finish, checkered walnut stock and forend. Strawed trigger and magazine catch. Lee Speed action without charger bridge, carbine type bolt with forward swept handle and flat knob, no provision for dust cover, not matching but proper type bolt with commercial proofing and 23 numbers off the rifle number. Receiver slotted for cutoff, not installed. Military style front sight base with beaded blade and hood. Express type rear sight with 2 folding and one standing leaf. Right buttsocket stamped "B S A Co". Top of barrel knox stamped with the BSA stacked rifles logo. Crown/BM proofs over left side of barrel and receiver, barrel also marked "8m/m" and "NITRO PROVED". No2 box magazine for .303, seems to function okay with an 8x50 cartridge with round nose bullet. Upper eye sling swivel stud with heavy wire used for swivel. Used, showing light wear and handling. Mechanically fine however ejection is sporadic, ejector screw may need replacement. Clean bore. C&R/FFL, s/n 174xx |
