| Description: |
| 30-06 Cal; 95% blue, fair bore, very good stock, 21'' barrel, Conversion manufactured by Francis Bannerman Company circa 1920s. After the Great War many surplus M1891 Mosin Nagant rifles produced by both New England Westinghouse and Remington Arms were sold to the Bannerman Company, where they were converted to sporters chambered for the popular in America 30-06 Springfield cartridge. Alterations were done to the magazine box, bolt head and extractor, barrels were shortened at the muzzle and set back at the chamber, bolt handles turned down slightly, original walnut stocks cut down to sporter length. The barrel chamber retains the original marking of "REMNINGTON", the date obscured by barrel set back. The left side of the chamber is stamped "CAL. 30'06". Original rear sight and its markings retained, with a beaded sporter Lyman front sight installed. The stock retains clear original Russian and flaming bomb/U.S. markings. The bore has strong rifling, however is dark throughout. Mechanically fine. C&R/FFL, s/n 5725xx |
