Die Le Français ist eine ungewöhnliche französische Selbstladepistole, die von der Manufacture Française d'Armes et Cycles de Saint-Étienne (Manufrance) entwickelt und gefertigt wurde. Die Entwicklung geht auf Étienne Mimard zurück, der bereits 1913 ein Patent für die Konstruktion erhielt. Die Produktion begann 1914 und lief in verschiedenen Ausführungen bis 1969. Die Pistole ist im Kaliber 6.35mm Browning (.25 ACP) ausgeführt und besitzt eine für ihre Zeit aussergewöhnliche Konstruktion. Charakteristisch sind der nach unten abklappbare Lauf und der innenliegende Schlagbolzen. Der Abzug arbeitet als Double Action Only, wodurch die Le Français zu den frühen Pistolen mit ausschliesslichem Double-Action-Abzug gehört. Durch ihre kompakte Bauweise wurde die Le Français vor allem als Taschenpistole angeboten. Sie wurde hauptsächlich auf dem französischen Zivilmarkt verkauft, fand aber auch bei französischen Behörden und einzelnen Angehörigen der französischen Streitkräfte Verwendung.
