Die Colt Third Model Derringer ist eine historische, einschüssige Taschenpistole im Kaliber .41 Rimfire. Sie wurde von Colt im späten 19. Jahrhundert gefertigt und gehört zu den klassischen amerikanischen Derringer-Pistolen. Charakteristisch für dieses Modell ist die äusserst kompakte Bauweise mit dem kurzen Lauf. Zum Laden lässt sich der Lauf seitlich ausschwenken, wodurch das Patronenlager zugänglich wird. Zusammen mit dem kleinen Griff und der einschüssigen Konstruktion ergibt sich die für Derringer typische, besonders kompakte Form. Die Colt Third Model Derringer ist heute vor allem als historisches Sammlerstück interessant und steht exemplarisch für die kleinen Taschenpistolen, die im 19. Jahrhundert in den USA eine grosse Verbreitung fanden.
