Un vélo classique de l'armée suisse, utilisé par l'infanterie cycliste. Officiellement appelé Ordonnanzfahrrad Modell 05, ce vélo fut introduit en 1905 et resta en service jusqu'à son remplacement par le MO-93. Il fut fabriqué entre 1905 et 1989 par Schwalbe, Casar, Cosmos et Condor. La caractéristique la plus reconnaissable des vélos de l'armée suisse est leur étui en cuir fixé au cadre. Ils étaient entièrement peints en noir, généralement semi-mat, bien que certains modèles plus récents aient été peints en vert olive. Les fixations et accessoires étaient de couleurs variées : noir, marron ou vert olive. Le modèle de base connut de nombreuses variantes, adapté aux différents domaines de la guerre. Certains furent dépouillés de tous les accessoires non essentiels pour servir de véhicules de messagerie. Équipé d'un cadre unique de 57 cm convenant aux hommes mesurant entre 1,55 m et 1,95 m, il possédait des roues de 650B. |
