Die äußere Form des Geschosses schafft ideale Voraussetzungen für hohe Präzision und geringen Luftwiderstand. Die 6,5x68 wurde bereits 1940 als Hochleistungspatrone vorgestellt. Mit dem 6 Gramm Teilmantelspitz sind aber 1150 m/s erreichbar. Die 6,5x68 ist somit eine sehr rasante Patrone mit einer sehr gestreckter Flugbahn und besonderer Eignung für sehr weite Schüsse. Das 8,2 Gramm KS ist als universelles Geschoss in der rasanten 6,5x68 geeignet. Die Patrone ist prädestiniert für Gebirgsjagden auf Gams, Steinwild, schwächere Wildschafe oder schottisches Rotwild.
