Magazine matching serial number. Bolt non-matching serial numbers. Infantry rifle 96/11, also known as long rifle 96/11. The rifles were modified from infantry rifles 1889/96 (Modell 1889/96 Infantry Rifle) and bear their weapon number. The alterations were made in the order in which the existing weapons could be withdrawn and not, as partly noted, according to number ranges. A total of 1'280 long rifles 1889/96 (Modell 1889/96 Infantry Rifle) were not altered (or destroyed or lost before the changes were made). |
