The EOTech HWS 512.A65 is the most popular holographic sight in the EOTech lineup — the Close Combat Optic chosen by USSOCOM (US Special Operations Command), offered in its AA-battery configuration, the most practical and cost-effective platform to operate long term.

Unlike traditional reflex red dots, EOTech's HWS holographic technology projects the reticle directly into the shooter's field of view, delivering ultra-fast target acquisition, unlimited eye relief, parallax-free operation, and perfect reticle overlay on moving targets. The 68 MOA / 1 MOA reticle (large enclosure ring + precision center dot) is one of the most intuitive and effective sight designs ever engineered for dynamic and CQB shooting.

The 512.A65 is the non-night-vision version of the EOTech HWS platform — for shooters who don't need NV modes, it offers the best price/performance ratio in the range. For use with night-vision equipment, see the 552 model.

• HWS holographic technology: not a standard LED projection — the reticle is optically reconstructed in the field of view, delivering some of the fastest target acquisition on the market and perfect reticle overlay on the target.
• Legendary 68 MOA / 1 MOA reticle: the large enclosure ring captures the target in a fraction of a second, the 1 MOA center dot ensures precision out to 300 m. A design proven over decades of operational use.
• Chosen by USSOCOM: the reference CCO (Close Combat Optic) of US Special Operations — operational validation unmatched in this segment.
• Universal AA power: AA batteries are available worldwide for pennies. No dependence on proprietary or expensive CR123 batteries.
• Unlimited eye relief + parallax-free: both eyes open, shoot at maximum speed with no head repositioning — essential for dynamic shooting.
• Tool-less mounting: knob clamp on Picatinny rail — install, remove, and swap between rifles in seconds.
• 20 brightness levels (110,000:1 ratio): perfectly readable in bright sunlight and low-light environments alike.
• Made in USA ruggedness: aluminum housing, submersible to 3 m, -40 to +65°C operating range with lithium batteries — built for intensive duty use.
• Broad platform compatibility: AR-15, AR-10, PCC, tactical shotgun, .22 LR carbine — universal on any Picatinny rail.

• Dynamic sport shooting: IPSC/USPSA rifle, 3-Gun, PCC competition, local matches — the EOTech holographic is a historic choice in these disciplines.
• Tactical shooting and CQB: the 68/1 format is optimized for fast multi-target engagement at close and mid range.
• Professional training: LEO, security agencies, tactical schools — a field-proven optic.
• Mounting on AR-15, 9mm PCC, .22 LR carbine, tactical shotgun: full versatility thanks to the universal Picatinny rail.
• Stand hunting / small-game drives: fast acquisition, reticle visible in low light, compatible with authorized semi-auto platforms.
• Civilian training and recreation: intuitive optic, immediate learning curve — ideal for shooters new to red-dot / holographic sights.
