Die SilencerCo Maxim 9 kann alle Arten von 9-mm-Patronen verschiessen - und nutzt GLOCK-17-Magazine. Die Pistole ist fast genauso leise wie eine mit einem Zusatzdämpfer auf dem Lauf ausgerüstete Pistole. In der kompaktesten Variante (die Pistole kann als Short- oder Long-Version benutzt und selbst umgebaut werden) misst die Waffe nur etwa 25 cm in der Länge. Der integrierte Schalldämpfer entfaltet seine optimale Wirkung eigentlich erst bei Verwendung von Unterschallmunition. In der Langversion kann die Waffe aber zumindest im Freien auch mit normaler 9-mm-Munition ohne Gehörschutz benutzt werden. Der feststehende Lauf mit einer Dralllänge von 1:10 ist zehn Zentimeter lang. Zudem verfügt die Maxim 9 über einen DAO-Abzug mit Fliehkraftschlagbolzen sowie beidhändige Bedienungselemente. Zur Waffe gehört auch eine spezielle Ledertasche (30 x 22 x 8 cm). Diese kann umgehängt oder am Gürtel befestigt werden und bietet innen eine Haltelasche für das Ersatzmagazin sowie eine weitere Haltelasche für die Pistole.
