Hot Cor Beim patentierten Hot-Core-Verfahren wird das Blei bei der Fertigung des Geschosses im flüssigen Zustand direkt in den Mantel gegossen. Dabei kommt es zu einer Verschmelzung von Bleikern und Geschossmantel. Es entsteht eine homogene Einheit, die sich auch bei hoher Belastung nicht trennt. Hot-Core-Geschosse haben zwei unterschiedlich harte Bleikerne, um die Expansion des Geschosses zu steuern. Der hintere Bleikern besteht aus einer wesentlich härteren Legierung als der vordere Kern und hält den Hinterteil des Geschosses zusammen. Der weiche Teil in der Geschossspitze sorgt für eine schnelle Vergrößerung des Geschossquer-schnittes. Hot-Core-Geschosse sprechen daher auch bei geringer Zielgeschwindigkeit gut an und erzielen durch das hohe Restgewicht eine gute Tiefenwirkung.
