Nur rund 8.000 wurden hergestellt. Das Rasheed wurde vom schwedischen Ingenieur Erik Eklund entworfen, das auf seinem vorherigen Hakim-Gewehr (8 × 57 mm Mauser-Patrone) basierte, das selbst eine leicht modifizierte Version des schwedischen Ag m / 42- Gewehrs (6,5 × 55 mm schwedische Patrone) ist. Der Karabiner ähnelt dem sowjetischen SKS- Karabiner, insbesondere das fest angebrachte Bajonett mit schwenkbarer Klinge, das mit seinem russischen Gegenstück identisch zu sein scheint.
