Swiss SIG P49, part of the 2nd series, 4th delivery to the Swiss Army, is in very good condition with 90% original finish. 5/5 Bore. Frame, slide, and barrel matching serial numbers.
 
Left side of the frame has light edge wear at the forward edge and on the dust cover. Light edge wear continues along the top edge to the rear. Edge wear on dust cover continues to about the midpoint of the dust cover. Small scratches in the finish at the high area above and to the right of the slide stop lever. Mark in the lower area of the frame below the slide stop lever, typical mark from safety selector usage, and there are also other small scratches in this area.
 
Right side of the frame has edge wear at the forward edge, with edge wear continuing along the upper edge toward the rear. Light edge wear on the dust cover continues to midpoint of dust cover. Various marks in the bluing at the high area above the slide stop lever pin and on the first 1/4 of the frame. Light scratches below and to the left of the trigger pin. Light edge wear on the beavertail.
 
On the underside are a few small, light marks on the dust cover, a heavier scratch in front of the trigger guard, small scratches on the bottom of the trigger guard and faint marks on the front strap. Edge wear on the trigger guard and finish wear inside the trigger well. 
 
Slide has light edge wear around the muzzle and light edge wear at the high area on both the left and right sides. Small mark on the left side of the slide near the muzzle. Front and rear sights have light holster wear. 
 
Non-factory wood grips installed. Wood grips have excellent checkering. Swiss shield design on the bottom third of both grips. Non-factory screw used to install grips.
 
Frame is P stamped on the left side of the trigger guard.
 
Includes military leather holster. Holster is stamped with "A. Durussel, St. Cierges" and the year of 1963.
 
C&R eligible. Very discreet import engraving.
 
 
 
Originally manufactured in 1947 by SIG in Neuhausen, Switzerland, this pistol was first designated as the SP 47/8 and became the standard military pistol of the Swiss Army in 1949 under the designation Pistole 49 (P49). The military P49 is identified by it's A-Prefix serial number and has a distinct engraving of the Swiss shield above the slide just in front of the rear sight. 
 
Later designated as the P210, this handgun is constructed of  steel and is chambered in either 9x19mm or 7.65x21mm Parabellum. The SIG P210 has been manufactured continuously for over 55 years with numerous variations, all of which are highly valued for their historical significance and reputation for surgical accuracy.
