Swiss SIG P49, part of the 2nd series, 4th delivery to the Swiss Army, is in very good condition with 93% original finish. 5/5 Bore. Frame, slide, and barrel matching serial numbers. Left side of the frame has light edge wear at the forward edge, with slightly heavier edge wear on the lower edge at the dust cover. Light to mild edge wear continues along the upper edge of the frame to the rear. Edge wear on the dust cover continues to the trigger guard. There are some scattered light marks in the bluing along the upper high area of the frame, and there is very light finish wear at the high area above the safety selector lever. Light mark in the frame below the slide stop lever and the typical mark from safety selector usage. Light edge wear to the rear of the trigger and on the bottom left edge of the front strap. Right side of the frame has mild edge wear at the forward edge at the high area and on the dust cover. Edge wear continues along the upper edge to the rear. Edge wear on the dust cover continues to the rear of the trigger. There are a few scratches at the high area of the frame near the forward edge as well as two small scratches at the upper edge above the slide stop lever pin. The upper edge of the frame also has a few small nicks in the metal. Light edge wear on the trigger guard. On the underside there are a few scattered marks on the dust cover and a light mark on the bottom of the trigger guard. 
Left side of the slide has very light edge wear along the upper edge. Right side of the slide has light edge wear along the upper edge. There is a small mark in the metal on the right side near the bottom edge, below the slide serrations. Front sight has minor edge wear. Rear sight has finish wear on the left and right sides. Light edge wear around the muzzle.
Black plastic grips have mild handling wear and fine checkering.
Frame is P stamped on the left side of the trigger guard. Soldier's tag found under one of the grip panels.
C&R eligible. Very discreet import engraving.
Originally manufactured in 1947 by SIG in Neuhausen, Switzerland, this pistol was first designated as the SP 47/8 and became the standard military pistol of the Swiss Army in 1949 under the designation Pistole 49 (P49). The military P49 is identified by it's A-Prefix serial number and has a distinct engraving of the Swiss shield above the slide just in front of the rear sight. 
Later designated as the P210, this handgun is constructed of  steel and is chambered in either 9x19mm or 7.65x21mm Parabellum. The SIG P210 has been manufactured continuously for over 55 years with numerous variations, all of which are highly valued for their historical significance and reputation for surgical accuracy.
