Im Oktober 2017 testete das U.S. Special Operations Command die der Leistung 6,5 mm Creedmoor-Patronen. SOCOM stellte fest, dass die 6,5 mm Creedmoor Patrone die beste Trefferwahrscheinlichkeit bei 1.000 m (1.094 yd) hatte, die effektive Reichweite um fast die Hälfte erhöhte, die Winddrift um ein Drittel reduzierte und weniger Rückstoss als die 7,62 x 51 mm NATO Patronen hatte. Die vorherrschende Einstellung ist, dass mit dem 6,5 mm Creedmoor mehr Platz für die Weiterentwicklung von Projektilen und Ladungen vorhanden ist. Details
