Smith&Wesson Mod. 59 (Occasion) 9mm Para Die Smith&Wesson Model 59 wurde 1971 eingeführt und gilt als eine der ersten sogenannten „Wonder Nines“ - eine neue Generation von 9mm-Pistolen mit Double-Action-Abzug und hochkapazitivem, zweireihigem Magazin. Sie basiert direkt auf dem Modell 39, wurde jedoch im Auftrag der US-Navy (speziell für die SEALs im Vietnamkrieg als „Hush Puppy“-Basis angefordert) zu einer Waffe mit grosser Feuerkraft weiterentwickelt.
