| This is a scrapbook once owned by a WW2 Navy veteran Walter G Fisher, who was awarded the Bronze Star medal during the war. Walter served aboard the LCT 1191 (Landing Craft Tank) in the Pacific theatre. The scrapbook has many photographs, postcards, drawings, foreign paper monies and a page of fern and plant leaves likely from an island which was visited. Also many newpaper clippings, awards bar, and the Bronze Star medal which he was awarded. Mr. Fisher survived a typhoon which capsized LCT 1191 in September 1945, and there is a form inside the scrapbook stating this. An interesting grouping., |
