| 405 WCF; fair bore, fair stock, 24'' barrel, Manufactured in 1915. Patina metal, original walnut stock. Round barrel with fixed front sight a cape style rear sight with one fixed and three folding leafs. The left side of the barrel is retailer marked "WALTER LOCKE & CO. LTD. CALCUTTA, DELHI & LAHORE" and "-NICKEL STEEL BARREL-/ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER". Oval proofs appear on top of the barrel and over the left side of the receiver chamber. The top of the receiver chamber is matted. The Winchester address and patent dates appear in two lines on the left side of the receiver. The upper tang is stamped "MODEL 1895/-WINCHESTER-/TRADE MARK REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. & FGN". Original ebony forend tip. The stock has cracks behind the lower tang, behind the upper tand and on the right side along the lower tang behind the frame. Mechanically fine. There is a slight bulge on the barrel approximately 3.25 inches from the muzzle with a visible ring inside the bore. Import marked. C&R/FFL, s/n 948xx |
