| 44 WCF; fair bore, good stock, 20'' barrel, Manufactured in 1891. Half magazine tube. Saddle ring present on the left side of the frame. Round barrel with fixed front sight and ladder rear sight graduated to 900 yard and marked at the top "1873". The top of the barrel forward of the rear sight is marked "WINCHESTER'S-REPEATING ARMS. NEW HAVEN CT./KING'S-IMPROVEMENT-PATENTED- MARCH 29, 1866. OCTOBER 16, 1860". The caliber designation is marked on top of the barrel in front of the frame. The brass elevator is engraved on the bottom with the caliber as well. The upper tang is engraved "MODEL 1873". Condition: The metal finish has turned mostly gray with browning on the barrel. The frame has some areas of light-moderate pitting. The original sliding dust cover is present on top of the frame. Mechanically in fine working condition. The bore has strong rifling, showing some darkness and pitting throughout. Antique., s/n 3885xxB |
