| 44 WCF; 30% blue, Good bore, good stock, 24.5'' barrel, Manufactured in 1888. Full round barrel with fixed front sight with silver blade and buckhorn rear sight. The top of the barrel forward of the rear sight is marked "WINCHESTER'S-REPEATING ARMS. NEW HAVEN CT./KING'S-IMPROVEMENT-PATENTED- MARCH 29, 1866. OCTOBER 16, 1860". The caliber designation is marked on top of the barrel in front of the frame. The brass elevator is engraved on the bottom with the caliber as well. The upper tang is engraved "MODEL 1873". Condition: The metal finish has worn evenly with areas of spotting and some light pitting on the left side frame plate. The original sliding dust cover is present on top of the frame. Mechanically in fine working condition. The bore has shine and strong rifling, showing some scattered minor pitting throughout. Antique., s/n 2793xxB |
