| 38 WCF; 75% blue, good bore, good stock, 20'' barrel, Manufactured in 1888. Original blue finish. Walnut stock, the buttstock has been lightly sanded and refinised, stock and forend both have a light coat of varnish applied. Original fixed front sight, carbine ladder rear sight. Clear original markings, the top of the barrel is stamped with the two line King's Improvement Winchester address and patent dates 1866 and 1860. Caliber markings on top of barrel chamber and on bottom of the brass cartridge elevator. The upper receiver tang is marked "WINCHESTER 1873". Mechanically fine. The bore has strong rifling, showing some light pitting. Accompanied by an original factory letter from the Cody Firearms Museum stating the rifle was shipped out on March 6, 1888.
