| Collins & Co. manufacture, stamped with the Collins logo and No.18 on the ricasso. Black bakelite handle held with 4 copper rivits. 9.25 inch bright blade, bass guard. Originally aquired by the U.S. government for issue to air crew as part of a bail out kit, many of these ended up in the hands of Marine Corp personnel and some were used by the famous 2nd Raider Battalion in the Pacific theatre. Overall good original condition, the blade shows signs of some sharpening over the years with some dark spotting. The handle shows some wear but no cracks or other major damage. Missing the leather scabbard., |
