| Patented by William Lanz (maker of holsters as well), patent number 655,979 Aug 14, 1900. Mentioned by O'Donnel in his book on page 290. Illustrated in a Bannerman's catalog drawing. Few were made bu not accepted. Wool covered (sewn on) metal 1 quart can, with cotton web cover, cord laced. Iron side rings for shoulder strap. Original chained cork stopper intact. Unmarked except for the Aug 14 1900 patent date on top of the cork stoppers metal cap. Cord lace torn on web cover. Some mothing on the wool internal cover. Soiling and staining on web cover. Scarce item and in over all good condition., |
