| 577 Caliber; 20% blue, poor bore, poor stock, 39'' barrel, This is a 3 band Tower Enfield rifled musket in Caliber .577 that was imported by the firm of Schuyler, Hartley, and Graham. The Union imported approximately 500,000 Enfield’s during the Civil War Lock plate is dated "1862" and "Tower" with a crown at the rear of the plate sans the VR...correct for an Enfield imported during the civil war. Lock plate and hammer are border-line engraved. 39" round barrel, with a poor bore. The metal finish has patina and spotting with mild pitting overall, front sight is a blade and the rear sight is missing. The stock is in poor condition with the buttstock having numerous worm damage. The action works. ANTIQUE., |
