| 45/70; 98% blue, very good+ bore, very good+ stock, 32.5'' barrel, Manufactured in 1881 This U.S. Springfield Model 1873 is chambered for 45-70 cartridges. Blade front sight and tangent rear sight graduated to 1200 yards. The left rear of the barrel has the "V/P/eagle head proofs. The lock plate has the eagle/shield motif and "U.S./SPRINGFIELD/1873” in front of the three-click tumbler hammer. The stock and buttplate "US" marked buttplate tang, an "LWP / 1881" cartouche on the left side ahead of the wrist and a circled scriptic "P" behind the trigger guard. The metal finish has very mild scattered spotting and patina, with excellent case color. The stock is in very good plus condition with very few handlings marks. It has a Rock Island sling in very good condition., s/n 1740xx |
