| .69; 70% blue, poor bore, fair stock, 35'' barrel, THIS RIFLE STARTED OUT AS A MODEL 1817 U.S.FLINTLOCK MUSKET THAT WAS LATER CONVERTED TO A PERCUSSION MUSKET. THE LOCK PLATE IS MARKED SPRINGFIELD 1818 EAGLE OVER U.S. THE METAL RETAINS APPROX 70% OF ITS BROWN FINISH. THE .69 CALIBER SMOOTH BORE IS HEAVILY CORODED. THE MIDDLE BAND AND RAMROD ARE MISSING. THE STOCK HAS AN OLD REPAIRED CRACK AT THE RIGHT TANG ALONG WITH A LARGE SLIVE OF WOOD MISSING FROM THE LEFT TANG. THE ACTION WILL ONLY GO TO HALF COCK AND DOES NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY. |
