| 69 Caliber; poor bore, good stock, 42'' barrel, Springfield Armory manufacture dated 1827, Type II variant. Browned finished iron parts. Walnut stock with visible though illegible inspector cartouches on the left side flat and bottom of grip. Original ramrod. Probable conversion back to flintlock however it is a good job of converting. 1827 date on barrel tang. No visible markings on the barrel breech area. Three spring kept barrel bands. The wood is dark, there is a small crack behind the lockplate on the right side and a small crack between the barrel and sideplate. The lock functions well. The bore is dark and rough. Includes an original bayonet in Fair condition having rust spotting overall. 16 inch triangular blade. |
