| 50 RF; 50% blue, good bore, good stock, 20'' barrel, The Model 1865 in .50 Caliber Rimfire (56-50) with six groove rifled barrel. Fixed front and ladder rear sights. Blued/patina mix finish with trace case color on the frame. Possible arsenal refinish. Walnut stock appears to have been lightly sanded, no U.S. Inspector cartouche visible. Hand stamped on the left side end of the butt "CN / 1953", unsure of the meaning on this stamp. Marked on top of the barrel breech "M.1865". Marked on top of the frame "SPENCER REPEATING/RIFLE CO. BOSTON. MASS./PAT'D MARCH 6, 1860.". Serial number stamped on top rear of the frame. Original magazine tube in the butt. No Stabler cutoff installed. Some wear at the toe of the stock. Tight hairline 1/2" crack on top of the stock behind the frame. Mechanically fine. The bore has strong rifling and some shine, has visible spots of corrosion throughout. Antique., s/n 26xx |
