The weight of the gun is 9 pounds 6 ounces. The lop is 14 inches. The metal finish 99% as is the case-hardened colors of the receiver and buttplate. The walnut stock and forearm show no wear or marks. The checkering is in mint condition also. The top of the barrel is stamped OLD RELIABLE and US SHARPS RIFLE CO. MERDEN CONN. The left side has CAL. 45/70 US. GOV, and the right side has SILE NEW YORK NY The left side of the receiver is stamped "C SHARPS PAT SEPT 12TH 1848" and the right side has "C.SHARPS PAT OCT 5TH 1852" It has a tang sight., s/n 285xx |
