| 22LR; 99% blue, fair grips, 8'' barrel, This is a refinished original Remington 1858 New Model Army that has been professionally converted to 22 LR. It has a full length non-concentric barrel sleeve as well as full length non-concentric cylinder sleeves. Top of the octagon barrel is marked, PATENTED SEPT. 14, 1858 / E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, NEW YORK, U.S.A. / NEW MODEL, a D on left side of barrel and bottom of brass trigger guard. Bottom of barrel and left frame (under grip) have matching s/n. left side of frame is marked, W. Cylinder has a pebbled grove. Behind the cylinder is a disk that contains a loading gate secured with a screw and a single firing pin. It too is adorned with a semi-circle pebbled groove. Metal finish has some pre refinish pits. Grips have initials, MP, carved on left grip. An excellent done custom? Conversion., |
