| Description: |
| A very rare SS prototype dress dagger manufactured by P. Muller at the Dachau Concentration Camp School for Damascus Blades. These daggers were ordered in 1939 however by the time the prototypes were delivered for inspection the war had begun in full force and it was decided that a new dagger for the SS was not needed. Few are known to exist, estimate is four. Features a 10.5 inch double edged acid etched damascus blade. Gold inlaid on one side "Meine Ehre heist Treue". The opposite side ricasso is gold inlaid "ECKT/DAMAST". The over all length of the blade including the tang is 14 7/8 inches. The tang is stamped "ECHT / DAMASZENE" and with what appears to be "P A M" with slight overstamp. The handle is black "Moroccan" leather wrapped wood with braided wire and silver plated spacer. The wire is relatively loose fitting on the handle. The pommel is of silver plated brass with the SS logo. The guard appears to be of silver plated metal with the eagle/swaztika on one side. The scabbard appears to be steel with leather wrap and silver plated mounts. Overall this dagger is in Excellent condition with the only mentionable issue being some light wear and slight bubbling of the plated finish on the guard. |
