| 54 Caliber; Good bore, good stock, 6'' barrel, N.P. Ames manufacture with USN and 1845 date on the lock. Standard variation with the flat flush mounted lockplate. Brass fittings. The metal has worn to bright with some light-minor pitting on the barrel. The action works well. The walnut stock has old tight stress cracks on the right upper front ahead of the lockplate and another on the left flat at the screw. |
