| 44 Russian; fair bore, very good grips, 7'' barrel, Manufactured 1876-1880's. Square butt frame. Old re-nickel finish over areas of light pitting. The top of the barrel is roll-stamped with visible elongated one-line, Merwin Hulbert legend with 1874-1877 patent dates. Markings originally on the left side of the barrel are illegible and the caliber designation originally on the right side of the frame are not visible. Cylinder is stamped with a 4 digit number which does not match the frames serial number. Fitted with genuine pearl grips. This revolver has been hand engraved with floral leaf patterns of moderate quality. Mechanically fine, the action functions well. The bore has strong fairly sharp rifling however has corrosion throughout. Antique., s/n 116xx |
