| 50 Caliber; 90% blue, excellent bore, very good stock, 20'' barrel, 2nd Model manufactured 1863-1865. Blued finish round barrel with octagonal chamber, fixed front and three leaf rear sights. Casehardened frame and lever. Walnut stock with strong inspector cartouches on the left side. Stamped on the right side of the frame "MANUFACTURED BY/MASS. ARMS CO./CHICOPEE FALLS.". On the left side of the frame "EDWARD MAYNARD/PATENTEE/MAY 27, 1851./DEC. 6, 1859.". Scattered light spotting on the metal. The action functions fine and the bore is bright and sharp. The barrel has some play and the tab for securing the lever on the ower tang is a bit worn. Antique., s/n 209xx |
