| 8mm; 98% blue, Good bore, excellent stock, 29'' barrel, Originally a GEW 98 Spandau 1916 manufactured rifle. Reworked with the updated rear sight. Marked with two Nazi era droop wing 63 proofs and S/42 on the right side of the rear sight base. This example ended up in Spain probably during the Spanish Civil War. Since then it appears to have been reworked by the Spanish. No matching parts. The stock is a walnut Spanish 1893 style fitted to the 98 action. The bore is a bit dark and frosted with strong rifling and a tight muzzle. Missing the cleaning rod. No import markings, the barrel is marked 8MM on the left side near the handguard., s/n 86xxr |
